Founder and designer, Wildcore Studio
Corey Hathaway is the founder of Wildcore Studio, where he designs and builds websites for local businesses across Central Florida. He grew up in Vermont and moved to Orlando, and he has been building for the web for over a decade.
The route here was not a straight line: theater kid, then dental hygienist, then Apple technician, then cafe manager. The through-line is that every one of those jobs involved sitting across from a person who needed something explained without condescension — which turns out to be most of what web design for a small business actually is.
He works alone rather than subcontracting, so the person who designs a site is the person who builds it and the person who answers the phone when something breaks. That constraint is the reason Wildcore takes on fewer clients than it could.
What he writes about
- Small business web design
- Local SEO for service businesses
- Website performance and Core Web Vitals
- Google Business Profile optimization
